<p>Once a year a local landowner (<strong>read:</strong> Many years ago an ancestor stuck a big fence around a piece of land and said &#8220;I&#8217;m having this&#8221;) named George Meyrick opens up his gardens to the public with the proceeds going to help local charities.</p>
<p>Having just been down to the Christchurch Food Festival we needed to walk off another titanic breakfast from the superb <a href="http://www.priory17.co.uk" target="_blank">Priory 17</a>, so took a trip to the Hinton Admiral estate.<br />
It was absolutely baking up there today, and the gardens themselves (and the main house) were magnificient.  I&#8217;ve created a <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/d0ct0rk/sets/72157604998288058/" target="_blank">Flickr set</a> containing a whole host of snaps of the gardens.  It&#8217;s amazing to think places like this are right on your doorstep and you never even know!</p>
