Snow Clears @ Home, Poole Doesn’t Get Memo

It’s all back to normal for me today, the snow was all but gone by tea time yesterday so I knew it would be into the office at the usual time.  Sure enough, the snow had completely vanished this morning, so I happily (well maybe not happily) set off for the office.

It would appear that either Dorset didn’t get the memo that it was all gone, or the gritters weren’t doing a particularly good job.  As I got past Bournemouth International Airport (how it got that moniker I don’t really know as it’s one step up from two blokes in a shed) the snow was still piled up by the side of the road and conditions got a little….frisky.

Fortunately everyone had their sensible hats on and decided it probably wouldn’t be a good idea to drive at the usual speeds on the faster roads but when I got into Holton Heath I was rather surprised.  Snow still covered the main roads and it was all a little hairy completing the final couple of miles of my journey.
The funnest part came when I got onto the industrial estate, and did some great slip sliding down the road and into the car park.  Fortunately I managed not to make a complete arse of myself, and didn’t fall over on the ice that was strewn across the car park.  If it could all be gone by the time I go home this afternoon that would be nice.
