I read a couple of the later ones but not the earlier stories.

I've worked my way through to series three of the box set so far, great stuff!

There are 13 Morse books. Have you read any of them? I have read 3 so far and they've all been great reads.

I'm glad its not just me then who has found this with CoD 4. I've been steering clear of gaming this week so far mainly due to lack of time, but I'll definitely persevere with it when I get more time.

Yah, my COD 4 experience was the same. I haven’t even finished the single player yet. I love the multiplayer experience but I hated the first level. It felt so . . . linear. But that’s what COD games are.

I had just finished Oblivion when COD 4 came out (yes . . . it took me like a year . . . I was taking my time !) so to go from something so open ended to something so corridor shooter . . . well at the time I hated it. I was sorry I spent the money on it. But the fact that the entire level lists and rolls while you’re playing was pretty cool.

But as the game goes on I like it more and more. However I have to finish Assassins Creed now . . . I’m so very close.

As for the Orange Box . . . love it. But none of my friends ever play Team Fortress and when I get on to play . . . well I just dont do very well. I'd rather loose to friends then listen to the taunts of 9 year olds.

I'd agree with you on CoD4 - very hard to get into. Theres a fantastic mission where you go back 15 years and play as the SAS group's captain quite far into the game... before it felt like I was forcing myself to play through, but from there it's really enjoyable.
