Hello World

| April 27, 2008 | 5 Comments

Hi folks, thanks for your kind comments and messages just lately, we greatly appreciate them.  I had planned to write a long post detailing everything I’ve been doing this week but I experienced the most incredible writers block and what I wrote was complete trash.  Yes, even worse than usual.

Just one item of note, if the site vanishes anytime soon it is because I’ve exceeded my bandwith for the year!  For some inexplicable reason the site receives over two thousand hits a day and I’ve gone through 8Gb of bandwith in the last four months.  This is fixable by switching to a more expensive hosting plan, but to be perfectly honest I have better things to spend £100 on right now, and sadly writing this doesn’t earn me any money.

Stay well.
Pete

    Oh No !

    8 Gb . . . man . . . that’s crazy. It’s not like you have streaming video or anything. That’s a lot of page loads lol !

Well I hope you dont go dark . . . or at least that you can come back up soon !

You should add a Donations section real quick !

Now you’re talking! I think I should be good for a couple more weeks before the limit is exceeded. A large chunk of the bandwith goes on the pictures, 12 of 12s get a lot of views, the crib stuff, etc.

I could shift the pictures over to my business domain but that’s a lot of hard work and re-linking.

Rather than the business domain, I would stick them on Flickr or something like that.

My sites (currently dead) have used 7gb this month alone. I had 1.2gb disappear through http traffic two nights running at the beginning of the month.

Are you able to analyse your cPanel traffic monitoring and see where it’s all going? you might find that people are hotlinking your images to a popular site.

Glad to see you’re ok bud.

  4. Pete says:

Fortunately I’m able to see where all the traffic is going, and its certainly not on a popular site hotlinking to images.
I’ll get round to sorting something out at some point :)

Hey Pete, it seems like I’ve def missed some stuff while I was taking my little “vacation”. Much love to you and your family and I’m glad it seems you have the opportunity to spend some time with them all right now. Talk to you soon. (#):)
