A very busy week!

| June 15, 2006

Well its been a very hectic seven days!

First of all, I’m very very very pleased to report I have picked up my first contract job. Starting on July 3rd I will be working on a six month contract for an MOD contractor in Gosport, with a view to extend the contract to nine months if everyone concerned is happy. That was all signed, sealed and delivered on Tuesday, so that’s a huge hurdle successfully…er…vaulted I suppose!

The business is now completely set up, Cullen IT Consultancy Ltd is go! I’ve got myself an accountant (how very sensible and thirtysomething), my VAT registration application is in, and I’m just waiting for HSBC to send over all the business bank account details.

Also on a business note, I’ve signed up for the Microsoft Partner programme, and will be receiving my MS Action Pack today (if UPS ever pull their finger out and get it here!), this is a set of pretty much every MS business application, OS, etc which is available to consultants or people who promote Microsoft technologies.

Next up, I’ve taken out a mobile phone contract with Orange today (tax deductable, wooo!), hopefully I should be able to port over my old Pay-As-You-Go number to it. If I can’t, I’ll e-mail the number to those of you who need to know.

Finally (promise), I’ve just bought a new car. All those miles up and down the M27 will be made a lot easier (and cheaper) in a diesel, even though I swore I would never buy one! But now being thirty and being sensible (well, pretending too) I’ve gone for another SEAT, the Leon this time, in the 1.9TDi version. To all intents and purposes its a Mk V Golf (or Skoda Fabia, or Audi A3 for that matter), but higher specced, and cheaper too. I’m picking that up next Thursday.

Phew! Well that’s that all done, thanks for reading!
