Mum does a slow cooker stew that's gorgeous. And she lifts the lid once or twice during cooking (it takes about 6 hours), to stir it so it doesn't stick and burn to the bottom rim. Here in the South, perhaps like your North, if you stop and take a picture of someone’s house or garden they actually appreciate the fact that you though it looked nice enough to take a picture of it . . . but up North (here in the US) people would get upset if you snapped a picture of their property. I was always wondering whether the fast pressure cooking would be really okay for our bodies not to speak about microwaves. this comes near to the stone age man cooking his meals on a tiny bonfire while gathering berries and seeds... I watched angels and demons and as it was recommended from age 12 we took our 10 year old with us. he usually does well with 12er movies. but this one was shocking for him, too many really brutal scenes.
