12 of 12 v4 – April

| April 12, 2009 | 32 Comments

It’s 12 of 12 time once again, last month we couldn’t participate as we were jollying it up around the Caribbean and nobody wants to see twelve photos like this now do they?

As always I give credit to Chad Darnell for creating this brilliantly simple idea.  12 photos, 12th day of the month.  Off we go.  Oh and as ever there is a Flickr page with a load of extras should you want to take a look.

08:00 – It’s Easter Sunday!  So Happy Easter to everyone, and it’s also my Mum and Dad’s wedding anniversary so hurrahs all round.  It’s pretty much obligatory to start with a photo of Will, but this one is a little bit of a cheat.  I took nearly a dozen pictures of him first thing before his breakfast and couldn’t get a decent one so this is a reserve photo!  But if you want the disturbing images of my bare feet as he refuses to co-operate, check the Flickr page!

The Easter bunny that Sally got for me, complete with Lindt bunnies and eggs inside.

The selection of goodies I got for Sally.  We usually don’t do the whole chocolate thing at Easter but…well, why not?

09:30 – Down in Christchurch for breakfast.  This is a shot of Christchurch Priory, I managed to get a series of photos during the roughly ten minutes the sun was out this morning.

First food photo of the month!  This may actually look revolting but it is absolutely amazing!  A breakfast pizza from SoHo.  The tomato came straight off and went to Sally.  Yes, I did eat the whole thing.  It’s not as big as it looks.  Well alright maybe it is, but I was hungry.  Don’t judge me!

10:30 - Swans down at Christchurch Quay.  I like to think the swan on the right is about to do that move from the end of the Karate Kid.  Sweep the leg, Johnny!

One final photo from the Quay, rather picturesque.  Plenty more like this in the additional pics on Flickr.

11:30 - As it’s Easter Sunday, absolutely nowhere is open unless it’s a cafe.  Fortunately, Makro (it’s a cash and carry for trade customers) was open so I went searching for Gillette razor blades (they were out), and ended up by 48 cans of Red Bull instead.  As you do.  This is the confectionary aisle.

14:00 – The weather is a bit crappy today, so I decided to check that everything is still working fine up in the “Man Cave” that is the loft.  Old consoles don’t die, they just come up here.  Fortunately, everything is still working perfectly.  The loft is in desperate need of a sort out…but not today.  For the nerds out there, in this shot you can spy a Nintendo 64, PlayStation, Sega Saturn, 2x Sega Dreamcasts, an Atari Jaguar, Philips CDi, PS2 slimline and a Crystal Xbox.

YouTube Preview Image

The 10th picture this month is actually a video (as you can see).  Nobody ever believe me when I say that Will loves to run around and investigate in the loft.  So here is video evidence of him running up the loft ladder :)

15:30 – Whilst out for a walk just around the corner I snapped these flowers.  No reason other than I thought they looked nice.

16:00 – Our final photo for this month (no struggling to take photos while at work this month!) is a special chocolate Easter cake that Sally just presented me with.
That’s all from me.  Same time next month?

  2. Lisa says:

Hi Pete, gosh what a lot of chocolate, hope you haven’t eaten it all already LOL!!! Love the video of Will, always good to see him. Gorgeous pics of the swans and flowers.

  3. Tony says:

Nice photos and the cake looks delicious.

  4. Eliane says:

Hi Pete, good to see you again! I am trying to post my lovely pics of a trip around sunny Beara Peninsula nearby (Southwest of Ireland) but our nasty satelite-internet-company apparently cut down most of the speed again so it takes about 10 minutes to upload one single pic of 95 kb. Drumming like in bronze age might be faster. So I will try to post much later, usually during the night the speed increases a little bit. At your page I ca only see the delicious chocolate cake, while I read your lines and wrote my lines this was all that came up, incredible. Cheers from Ireland! Eliane

What on EARTH are you going to do with 48 cans of Red Bull? Never mind, maybe I don’t want to know…

Looks like a lovely day. And lovely chocolate cake … I didn’t get any of that :(

  6. Chris says:

Oh, and, yes, Caribbean photos are more than welcome. There’s no such thing as too many palm tree photos ;)

  7. patty says:

what do you mean we wouldn’t want 12 shots of the Carribean? I’d be jealous but that would have been fun too!

your man cave loft has things that could be sold to the Smithsonian already. haha!

  8. Beth says:

Great shots! The food pics make me HUNGRY!!

Oh…and as for my ticket… Yeah…the $60 was actually at a discount, so… But I love the show so it’s worth it for me. I like supporting people who have become friends.

  9. Sunny says:

Love the photos. The flowers are beautiful, the chocolate looks yummy, and the swans are wonderful to look at. You’re breakfast description is right on. :-)

  10. DXEndar says:

That breakfast pizza looks AMAZING !

I’ve had to very much reduce my ‘energy drink’ intake. I’ve lost weight just by cutting those things out of my diet. Though, occasionally, a nice Red Bull finds it’s way into my refrigerator.

I’ve never seen a ‘crystal’ x-box before. Was that a mod or were they commercially available ?

Go Will ! Cats are crazy . . . too bad I cant breath around them.

  11. Pete says:

Nosir, commercially available in limited numbers. Although mine was modded to the hilt, big fat hard drive installed and there is even an LCD display on the front.

    Xzibit would be proud.

  12. Julie says:

I love the picture of the priory. There is nothing around here quite so picturesque!

  13. BU says:

Should you find the razor blades elsewhere, I’d advise that you not use them while hopped up on Red Bull!

  14. Polt says:

Beauty photo of the church and the flower garden. Looks like a fun day!

    HUGS…

  15. Bush Mackel says:

@DXEndar – I gotta disagree with you, that thing is the scariest thing I’ve seen all day. But I’m sure I’d taste it and then change my mind. (#):)

  16. Pete says:

The breakfast pizza is a thing of beauty and should be wondered at regularly.
My man Endar knows the deal :)

  17. Bush Mackel says:

@Pete – Hey, that just means you both are crazy.

  18. Aimee says:

Your man cave looks how my husband’s would if I didn’t guilt him into ‘trading up’ whenever he wants a new one! (Although, I think we’re getting there, what with an N64, PS2 & now a Wii…)

  19. Michele says:

Nice 12 Pete. I’m glad I don’t like chocolate or I’d be in trouble.

    Will ROCKS.

  20. Pete says:

@Bush – Don’t make me jet over there and issue a beatdown after dissing the awesomeness :D

  21. Tom Eccles says:

Love the video! + that Pizza looks amazing…

  22. Bush Mackel says:

    @Tom – Re: Fake Pizza – BLEH

  23. Pete says:

Never trust the cullinary prowess of a dude cramming a hot dog into his mouth on his site front page :D

  24. Bush Mackel says:

    @Pete – You know what… That’s a really good point. (#):D

  25. Nice pics Pete. We had a cat (Jac) at the last course I worked at that climbed the ladder up on the loft area above my office in the barn. She was always tracking down mice. That was her job and she was very good at it despite being just a kitten. No fair not posting your vacation last month. …And what’s with eggs and breakfast? It seems that if you put an egg on anything you can call it breakfast.

  26. Linda says:

Okay, that breakfast pizza looks amazing – but the question is, how are Red Bull and chocolate together? *grin*

The Caribbean looks warm and wonderful. We’ve gotta get there someday.

Love seeing the gorgeous Will in action. :)

Great photos, as always. Belated Happy Easter!

  27. Elle says:

I would have liked some vacation pictures. makes me feel warm inside ;)
Yummie… all the easter bunnies look good. I love Lindt chocolate. Got a lot of them myself, from my boss etc.
And I totally like your man cave with all the consoles. I think there are a lot of good ol’ games out there :D

  28. Elle says:

Bones is a great show, I really like it. And of course I LOVE David Boreanaz. He’s the hottest guy in the world ;)
The 3rd German Bones Season was released one week ago. But those asses didn’t put the 4 episodes from season 4 on it. Every other Bones season 3 dvd has those 4. And still with only 15 episodes left they sell it for 43€ that’s more expensive then the other seasons though they have way more episodes.
Angel is okay I guess. I watch it sometimes at nights but I was never as hooked as with Bones. Probably because it started when I was too young.

  29. paul Sylvester says:

    Hey Pete

loving this months 12 of 12 but where is the Video?

  30. Pete says:

Video’s there sir! Unless you have a YouTube embed blocker or some business??

  31. Scooter says:

What a great and colorful day!!! Love the breafast pizza but the Easter cake takes the…cake.

  32. Jenepel says:

That pizza looks scary but I have a strange compulson to try it! I love the swan picture – seems like it was the exact moment to snap it.

Our cat climbs ladders exactly like that.
